The Bolo Khauz mosque.

Hello everyone 🙋🙋.

Today, the seventh of December, is the eighth

day of our practice. We gathered near Ark Castle

at 12:50. Our teacher Sabina Sharipovna arrived

at 13:00 and we started today's practical lesson.

😊😊😊

Our today's address is located in Registan,

Bukhara, one of those famous mosques is the

Bolo Khauz Mosque.

This mosque has existed since ancient times and

still has not lost its beauty.

Several girls and our teacher Sabina Sharipovna

told some information about this mosque.

According to the said information, Boloi-Khouz

mosque is the only preserved monument in

Registan Square. It is located near Ark, the emir's

castle. The complex consists of a pool, Friday

mosque and minaret. The oldest part of the

complex is Boloi-Hovuz (meaning "children's

pool"). it is one of the preserved ponds in

Bukhara.

Boloi-Khouz mosque was built in 1712 based on

the decision of the wife of the Bukhara

government. According to other interpretations,

Amir Shahmurad (1785-1800) built this mosque

for public worship in order to be close to the

people. At that time, the most beautiful mosque

in Bukhara was completed despite the cultural

and economic crisis in the Emirate of Bukhara.

This magnificent multi-pillared mosque with a

portico dates back to the 18th century. The

wooden ceiling of the portico, supported by

attractive columns, is decorated with wood

carvings and floral and geometric patterns. Most

of the rulers of the city prayed there.

This picture shows people praying.

Besides these, we got some more information.

The big domed mosque of Bolo Khauz Mosque

was built in 1712, the courtyard and rooms were

built in the 19th century, the porch was built in

1915-17, and the separate minaret next to the

mosque was also built in these years by Usta

Shirin Murodov and Usta Hafizov. Friday prayer

was performed in the mosque.

Architecture

It is a rectangular building with sides of 11.5 m.

Bolo Khauz mosque is decorated with shield-

shaped and complex relief patterns. The mihrab

is decorated with elegant patterns. Ganch stucco

pediment is on the east side of the mosque,

decorated with ganch patterns. on the sides of

the roof, two-story rooms with high shelves were

 built.

The mosque has 20 tall and thin wooden pillars.

The shelves on the side walls of the porch are

decorated with patterns. The porch of the

mosque and the ceiling with hanging

chandeliers are especially magnificent. If you

look at the Bolohovuz Mosque from Registon

Square, you will have a wonderful impression of

its facade, small minaret on the side of the

square, and the pool in the middle. The shores of

the pool are reinforced with steps made of large

stones.

Near the mosque there is a minaret restored in

1917 by master Shirin Murodov. The walls of the

spacious hall of the mosque are decorated with

large flowers and geometric patterns.

"Bolo khovuz" ensemble, which has an

undeniable artistic value, is located in front of

the Bukhara Ark fortress, in front of the castle,

on the western edge of Registan Square. On

festive days, the emir visited this mosque from

his castle, and carpets were spread from the Ark

to the mosque.

There is another name for the mosque - "Mosque of

forty columns". This national name was given for its

special elegant appearance, for forty tall and thin

wooden posts painted with various wood carvings

giving it its uniqueness. Graceful elongated columns

rise to the sky and support the ceiling of the aivan,

which served as a summer mosque. Bright

paintings,

patterns, carvings, lightness and airy structures

impress

many tourists. Thanks to the original columns a

rather

large building seems so weightless and elegant. We

should pay a strong tribute to Shirin Muradova, the

skillful architect and artist-ornamentalist.

Currently, the Bolo Hauz Mosque is operational. Many

believers come to pray here now, as it was before. As it

adjoins one tourist route together with the nearby

famous Ark fortress, the mosque attracts a lot of

tourists who come to observe and admire the unique

architecture of the building and relax near the reservoir -

the ancient deep Hauz.

Our practice is over. At the end, our teacher

Sabina Sharipovna checked our diaries and

evaluated them by asking questions one by one.

The weather was very cold, but despite this, our

internship was very adventurous and

unforgettable.

Thank you Sabina Sharipovna for a wonderful

day!!!!

Thank you for your attention😊😊😊.
