Mag‘oki Attor mosque.

Hi everyone!!! Today is the 28th of May, seventh day of our practice. Today we visited Turki Jandi mosque. As usual, we gathered at 10:00 and teacher checked our attendance for today. After that we started to give information about the monument one by one. Today Samiya, Feruza, Malika, Marjona and Mohitobon gave a lot of information about the mosque. 

The Mag'oki Attori Mosque is a very old mosque in Bukhara, built between the 12th and 16th centuries. It has a unique architecture with columns and domes. Interestingly, the mosque is actually situated more than 4.5 meters below the ground level. It is well-known for its beautifully carved decorations. Among all the historical buildings in Bukhara, this mosque is the oldest one that still exists today. People call it the Magoki Attori Mosque because it is located in a deep area called "magok" and close to the attor markets.

The Mogaki Attar Mosque was constructed in the 12th century when the Karakhanids were in power. It is situated towards the western side of the well-known Lyabi Khauz square. The mosque's creation is connected to an Arab sheikh named Qutayba Ibn Muslim.



In 1541, Bukhara Khan Abdulaziz Khan had plans to demolish the mosque. At that time, the mosque had sunk into the ground, and a part of the front facade was damaged. However, a wise and respected person named Naqshbandi Sheikh Mahmudi Azam intervened and prevented the destruction from happening. 

There is a belief that the Maghoki Attori Mosque might have been constructed between the 9th and 10th centuries. It is said to have been built on the foundation of a Zoroastrian temple that existed before the arrival of Islam. 

Before the Arab conquest, the location where the Maghoki Attori Mosque stands today was occupied by a marketplace. This marketplace was known for trading various items such as idols, potions, spices, and perfumes (attor). It was a bustling place where people could buy different goods.

It was very great and enjoyable day for us. We have learnt a lot of information.

It is named after Hazrat Said Abulhasan, who passed away in the year 1004. He is descended from Hazrat Imom Hasan and has a lineage of nine generations. He was a scholar and spiritual leader in the Shariat and Tariqat traditions. Hazrat Said Abulhasan's spiritual mentor was Hazrat Ja'far Kholdi, who was a disciple of Hazrat Junayd Baghdadi.   Day 12. Bahauddin Naqshbandi shrine. Today is Tuesday April 18.    The   third week is the second day of our practice. Our destination today is the shrine of Bahauddin Naqshbandi, and we gathered there.  Khoja Bahauddin Naqshband is one of the most famous saints of the Islamic world, the founder of the Naqshbandi order. He was born in March 1318 AD in the village of Qasri Hinduvon, Kogon District, Bukhara Region. He is also popularly known as Bahauddin, Bahauddinjan, Khoja Bahauddin, Bahauddin Balogardon, Balogardon, Khojayi Buzruk, Shahi Naqshband. Khwaja Bahauddin Naqshband's original name is Muhammad.  Bahauddin complex - hazira complex near the tomb of Sheikh Bahauddin Naqshband (Bukhara region, 16th century). Day 4. Boboyi Porado‘z mausoleum. Hi everyone!!! Today is the 23rd of May, fourth day of our practice. Today we visited Boboyi Porado‘z mausoleum. As usual, we gathered at 10:00 and teacher checked our attendance for today. After that we started to give information about the monument one by one. Today me, Samiya, Malika, Feruza, Mohitobon and Oysara gave a lot of information about the mausoleum.  The Boboyi Poradoz Mausoleum (Uzbek: Boboyi Poradoʻz maqbarasi) is a monument of architecture in Bukhara, Uzbekistan. The mausoleum was built in the 19th century and is located behind the Salakhona gate. Today the mausoleum is located opposite the Ibn Sina Library of Bukhara. The mausoleum is included in the National List of Objects of Material Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan of Republican Importance.
